Noodle Star
About This Spot
Stepping into Noodle Star, you’re greeted by a quiet, unpretentious space tucked away in Garden Grove’s hustle. The pace is calm, almost meditative—offering a gentle contrast to the busy world outside. It’s the kind of place where the focus quietly settles on the food and the rhythm of a simple yet comforting meal.
The atmosphere carries the subtle warmth of a well-loved neighborhood spot, though the décor leans minimalist and practical rather than ornate or overly styled. This simplicity allows the experience itself to center on the moments around the table—the hand-pulled noodles crafted with visible care, the steaming bowls of soup delivered with subtle confidence, the familiar scents of garlic and chili quietly promising a balance of flavors without overwhelming the senses.
There’s an earnestness in the way dishes arrive at your table: generous portions that invite sharing and slow enjoyment. The menu invites curiosity without the need to rush—there’s a natural flow from cold starters to hearty mains, underscored by dishes like spicy Mapo tofu or the delicate folds of dumplings. The food, at its best here, offers a grounded but skillful interpretation of traditional flavors, occasionally with small surprises that hint at the chef’s practiced hand, such as citrus notes woven into familiar recipes.
While the service remains friendly and attentive, the quietness of the room can sometimes feel a little reserved—a reminder that this is a place more about the food’s company than loud chatter. It’s a spot visitors often find themselves returning to, drawn by the comfort of a well-executed meal let down only by the space’s understated vibe. Yet, those who linger find it a rewarding pause amid the variety of Asian eateries nearby.
Noodle Star is less about fanfare and more about the moments captured between bites—where the simplicity of hand-pulled noodles, a bowl of hot and sour soup, or a plate of stir-fried greens quietly grounds a meal in a sense of place. It’s a restaurant for those who appreciate food that feels sincere, portions meant to satisfy, and an atmosphere that invites you to simply sit down and enjoy.

Food is delicious and comes in large portions and with complementary rice. My favorite is the cold dish that has beef in chili oil. Though I think the sichuan dishes could be spicier. Service is friendly and attentive. We came at 9pm and were the only customers at the restaurant.

Absolutely delicious! This place serves such skillfully cooked dishes, it reminds me of being back in Hong Kong. I’m going to come back again and again, especially for the hand pulled noodles. Great stuff!

Weird vibe. Cold restaurant. Fine service. Food was good. Just a "okay" restaurant. Nothing really wrong except the bathroom was disgusting. Got the wontons in chili oil (probably the best dish), orange chicken, chow fun, and shrimp fried rice (not great and no flavor, had to add soy sauce). Just an okay experience, sorry but probably won't be back as there are so many asian restaurants in the area.

Great experience! Exceptional food. We were traveling in the area and looking for a place to have a good dinner. This kept popping up as a recommendation. We came in to staff making hand pulled noodles. Everything we ordered was hot, fresh, and tasted amazing. We ordered the orange chicken as a starter, and imagine our surprise that it actually had citrus and orange peel in the sauce! Best noodles and dumplings I've had in years. Thank you for the fun and filling dinner. Restaurant was clean and the music was a good background noise not too over powering.

Food was yummy and service was very quick. Granted there were two other tables there but the food came in less than 10 minutes. Portion sizes were also good and we ordered three dishes for 2 people and it was way more than we needed. Overall good for the price and we will be coming back to try more items on their extensive menu.

Came here to try the food based on the reviews and it was great!! Will definitely make sure we stop by this red each time we come to Disneyland for vacay. Dumplings were great and the honey walnut shrimp was amazing!! Only downside was the restaurant was soo cold inside I was freezing and it caused our food to get cold super quick.

So good! Pan fried dumplings and the pork dumplings in chili oil were excellent. Fast prep and served hot. The restaurant was clean and had great seating too.

Quite amazing good…and the prices, soo affordable. We ordered 4 dishes and it cost around $65 (before tip) and one left over to go. The portion is quite big. Service is great and friendly. Parking is great, big parking lot and the place is clean, big and airy. Decor is minimal but feels Chinese for sure. You can see inside the kitchen while they’re cooking. Menu has quite a lot options and you can order via app at the table. The foods are well make, well seasoned and well presented plus very yummy. Definitely will come back to try other dishes since the prices are so affordable and the place is with big seating area, inside that is.
